Firmenich Revolutionises Fragrance Creation
For several decades the fragrance industry has operated within a very rigid framework. There was clearly a need for greater agility within the sector. The Swiss company Firmenich, a global leader in flavours and fragrances, saw an opportunity to break these barriers.
Smaller fragrance companies were shut out of traditional creation processes due to reliance on small scale production quantities.
With consumer preferences shifting towards customisation and speed, many struggled to find high-quality, tailor-made scents without committing to large-scale production. Firmenich responded by creating Scentmate, an AI-driven platform designed to democratise fragrance creation. The rapidity of production and flexibility of scent options would be transformative.
By integrating artificial intelligence, big data and Firmenich’s olfactory expertise, Scentmate empowers brands to develop unique scents faster and more efficiently than ever before.
Outcome
The Launch That Changed Everything
The creation of Scentmate had a powerful driver: clear market demand. We recognised that was our starting point. “You inspired us” was the creative motto that conveyed the magnitude of first mover advantage. From there we designed a comprehensive launch strategy that positioned Scentmate as a market leader.
Through planning to execution, we ensured that every stakeholder, from internal teams to key industry opinion leaders, understood and valued Scentmate’s unique proposition.
To achieve this, we launched a multi-channel, multi-target campaign simultaneously across 5 countries, creating countless audiovisual assets, opening and managing content for all of the brand’s social media channels, and executing PR campaigns with personalised mailings to the most influential Key Opinion Leaders within the sector.
The result was a resounding success, proving that technology and personalisation can seamlessly coexist through creativity and efficiency.
